The Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, as a co-applicant with the City of Fresno was awarded a Transformative Climate Communities grant. This grant will create the Clean Shared Mobility Network with six other community partners.
2017
The Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce named Tara Lynn Gray as its first ever female Chief Executive Officer and as the third President/CEO of the Chamber.
2015
The Fresno Metro Black Chamber relaunches the Women’s Entrepreneurship Network and established the Fresno Green Team program. In addition, the Chamber becomes an AmeriCorps VISTA Economic Opportunity Project sponsor for eight VISTA at four local community economic development organizations.

The Chamber moves into the Downtown Business Hub and develops a new partnership with the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation. In addition, it launches the Central Valley Business Diversity Expo.

In 2010, the Chamber formed a sister organization, the Fresno Metro Black Chamber Foundation to supports its charitable activities, increase philanthropy in the regional African-American community, and facilitate more services to emerging businesses.
2001-2009
From 2001-2009, Ken Blackwood served as the founding President/CEO of the Chamber. In March 2009, the board of directors named Tate Hill II as the new President/CEO of the Chamber. That same year, the San Joaquin Valley and the Central California Black Chambers merged to form the Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce.

1999
In September of 1999, at the request of Kenneth Blackwood and Earlena Morris, a meeting to form a task force was organized at the African American Museum with the support of Ruby White and Keith Kelley. The task force consisted of Kenneth Blackwood, Earlena Morris, Patricia Ratliff, Ali Morris, Darrell Hunter, DonPreyel Martin, Bobby Cowings, Michelle Thomas, Richard Midgett, and Valerie McCollum-Glass.
