Fresno Green Team

It is no secret that the Central Valley experiences some of the nation’s most polluted air.
But it should come as no surprise that not all residents in our area experience this pollution equally. Black and Latino communities experience it the worst.
That’s why we created two initiatives to help create a greener economy in the Valley and address the decades-long environmental justice issues that continue to impact our community.

About the Fresno Green Team
The Fresno Green Team works to green certify businesses, conserve resources, monitor air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By leveraging incentives, rebates, state program dollars and technical assistance, we set the stage for more Black-owned businesses to enter the green industry and develop eco-friendly business practices.

About the Green Team Youth Ambassadors
Knowing that a transition to a greener economy will lead to the creation of more green jobs, we launched the Green Team Youth Ambassadors, a workforce development program focused on providing job opportunities for young adults ages 18-28.
The program not only prepares our young people for the jobs of the future that are in demand today. It helps our community address the environmental racism African Americans face in the Valley, especially in Central and South Fresno.
Know someone who is looking for a job opportunity and who lives in the 93706, 93721 or 93725 ZIP codes? Have them apply to become a Green Team Youth Ambassador on our website, and let’s advocate for the environment together! For questions, email mona@treefresno.org.
